How to Read a Research Summary

A primer on the parts of a research summary and the questions worth asking as you read.
Research summaries condense a study into a few paragraphs. Knowing what to look for makes them easier to read critically.
Start with the question the study set out to answer and who took part. Then look at what was measured, the main findings and the limitations the authors describe.
Ask whether the people studied reflect the people you care for, and whether the findings have been confirmed by other research.
